MARY-LYNN MURPHY - SHIFT

Expect the unexpected as characters navigate shifting ground in this collection of stories set mostly in Northern Ontario. A man sets out to ignore the instructions on his car’s GPS–which sounds just like his wife–and ends up in another dimension. A young woman recalls her unusual childhood as new details are revealed. The receptionist at a zero-star motel encounters a series of unanticipated events that change the course of her life. In prose ranging from sharp realism to dream-like speculation to zany mischief, Shift explores the often bewildering ways our lives play out.
