DLHS Hour 2 | Can You Watch a Public Execution

The show then asked the Question of the Day to listeners, and asked whether they would watch a public execution, prompting an emotional discussion about punishment, spectacle, desensitization and America’s violent history. The question follows plans to execute former Army major Nidal Hasan by firing squad for the 2009 Fort Hood attack; although officials initially said it would be livestreamed, President Donald Trump later said the execution would not be publicly broadcast.
