What is next for James Gunn and DCU now that Skydance is in charge?

Is Lanterns officially the first massive television hit of James Gunn's DCU? With the Lanterns finale right around the corner, new numbers claim the HBO series is averaging approximately 19 MILLION viewers per episode.

On today's Kristian Harloff Show, we break down the reported viewership numbers for Lanterns, the response to the season so far, and what its success could mean for Hal Jordan, John Stewart, Green Lantern, and the future of DC Studios.

With the finale approaching, we'll also look back at the season and discuss whether Lanterns has lived up to the hype. Has the series successfully established Aaron Pierre's John Stewart as one of the major characters of the new DCU? And where does Kyle Chandler's Hal Jordan go from here?

NO FINALE SPOILERS YET — we'll save the full season and finale spoiler discussion until after the episode airs.

We also have a potentially enormous development for Hollywood.

Warner Bros. and Paramount are preparing to become Skydance, and a new trailer promoting the merger is highlighting the absolutely enormous collection of franchises that will exist under the combined company.

We're talking DC, Harry Potter, Game of Thrones, Mission: Impossible, Star Trek, Transformers, Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles, Top Gun, Mortal Kombat and many more. What happens when this many major entertainment properties exist under one corporate umbrella? And most importantly for DC fans, what does this mean for James Gunn and Peter Safran's DC Studios?
