The Paranoid Squirrel ep 1090

Acweorna! Episode 1090 of The Paranoid Squirrel Rock Show delivers another helping of Punk, Junk & Glunk—where melody meets mayhem and the volume control rarely gets a quiet night.

This week we travel from surf-infused Californian punk to Scandinavian bar-room rock ’n’ roll, taking in sparkling power pop, politically charged riffs and high-octane North East noise along the way. Expect new singles, forthcoming-album tasters, a B-side with A+ credentials and a rehearsal-room recording too good to keep under wraps.

We also put right last week’s accidental escape from Covers Corner, revisit the 100 Club for some gig-going observations and salute Cheetah Chrome with a blast of The Dead Boys. Elsewhere, there are musical connections involving Paul Collins and Brian James, silver-jubilee celebrations and an unexpected encounter with “Ant & Dec”.

The episode was pre-recorded while Griff and I headed back to the 100 Club for another night of live music. No Last Nut this week—but there’s plenty of glorious racket before we run out of time.
