The Shadow - "Altar of Death" (Old Time Radio)

The Shadow presents “Altar of Death,” originally broadcast March 15, 1942. Cataloged as episode 249 in some listings, this Mutual Broadcasting System adventure stars Bill Johnstone as Lamont Cranston/The Shadow and Marjorie Anderson as Margo Lane.

Lamont and Margo travel to Port St. Luce, a tropical volcanic island haunted by an annual rite known as “the night that eats people.” As fear gathers around the volcano and its ominous ceremonies, the Shadow investigates the deadly force behind the island’s cult.

The Shadow presents the original broadcast with a newly produced contextual introduction, a short closing announcement, and gently cleaned/mastered audio for a more consistent listening experience.
