TPH 214: Payton Grimes

<p>A conversation with Payton Grimes, a PRS and NRL Hunter competitor and two-time rimfire and centerfire world championship medalist, joined by her mother Rachel. Payton traces her path from a first shooting lesson at 13 through six years of competitive PRS shooting, her growing love of NRL Hunter, and hunts spanning an Ibex retrieved by a hired mountain climber, a one-shot Cape buffalo in Africa, and a helicopter tahr hunt in New Zealand. The conversation also digs into the economics of competitive shooting, entry fees, prize tables, and why PRS&#39;s payout structure lags far behind other competitive sports despite the money circulating in adjacent industries.
