Primetime: The Most Uncomfortable Movie of the Year

SPOILER ALERT

Jason and Rachel review Primetime, Lance Oppenheim’s deeply uncomfortable fictionalized take on the world of To Catch a Predator, starring Robert Pattinson and Merritt Weaver.

Rachel says she’d rather watch Saw than sit through this again — and somehow still gives the movie a thumbs up.

We get into Robert Pattinson’s Chris Hansen-inspired character, the strange morality of predator-sting television, whether public humiliation actually solves anything, the gray areas the show refuses to acknowledge, and why the movie makes almost everyone involved feel compromised.
