LA County is under a Red Flag Warning starting early Thursday through Friday night — and possibly lingering into Saturday. Gusts of 50 to 70 mph in the mountains, 40 to 60 in the valleys and along the coast, covering the Santa Monica Mountains, Malibu, San Fernando Valley, Santa Clarita the San Gabriels and more. So, charge the phones, know your zone, and maybe don’t light the grill out back this weekend. Timmy’s not thrilled.

9:20 — Dodgers just scored — they’re winning this game! Timmy is taking full credit. He firmly believes he is personally responsible for dragging them into the World Series. After a 20% weekday reduction earlier this year, they’re proposing another 29% of weekday trains and 40% of weekend trains gone — starting as soon as November 16 if the counties sign off on October 23. Orange County and the Antelope Valley Line take the biggest hits. Ridership is still way below pre-COVID, they just raised fares for the first time in 13 years, and the member agencies are short on cash. Timmy’s take: higher prices, fewer trains. Perfect.

9:50 — Apple just dropped HomeView, its first real smart home hub with a screen. It’s a 7-inch display that sits on the counter or mounts on the wall, runs the new Siri AI, and recognizes up to six people in the house so it switches to your personal stuff — messages, calendar, reminders — when it sees your face. You can control lights, locks, cameras, and the rest by voice or touch, make FaceTime calls, and it even listens for smoke and CO alarms. Finally, a kitchen screen that knows it’s you. And no more fumbling for the house key if it’s paired to your phone or watch.
