Truth And Rec Day LIVE

While most of the city has the statutory holiday off, Dave Wheeler and Tyler Carr are live in the studio holding down the fort as one of the few morning shows on the air in Winnipeg. On this special Wednesday edition of The Wheeler and Tyler Podcast, the boys mark the National Day for Truth and Reconciliation, highlighting Orange Shirt Day events across the city—from the Treaty One Nations run at the Assiniboia Residential School site to community gatherings at The Forks and free programming at the Manitoba Museum.

Of course, the holiday shift wouldn't be complete without full-throttle morning show hilarity. Dave and Tyler brainstorm new names for the infamous Perimeter Highway, dissect a bewildering clash between Luke Wilson and legendary broadcaster Bob Irving, celebrate Momma Carr's birthday, and commiserate over the delayed resurrection of the woolly mammoth. Plus, an opening-night recap of the 2026–27 NHL season, MLB Wild Card blowouts, McDonald's Monopoly tactics, and the ongoing saga of Winnipeg's rising cost of living.
