"It's Too Expensive" Isn't Really About the Price
Have you ever had a customer tell you, "It's too expensive," and immediately wondered if you need to lower your prices?
Before you touch that price tag, we need to talk.
Because most of the time, "it's too expensive" isn't actually about the price.
In this episode of Your Business Bestie, we're breaking down what customers may REALLY be trying to tell you when they give you a price objection and the things you need to look at inside your business before assuming your prices are the problem.
Yes, sometimes something truly is priced too high. And sometimes a potential customer simply can't afford what you offer right now. That's okay. Not everyone is going to be your customer.
But people spend money on expensive things every single day. They buy premium brands, $7 coffees, expensive leggings, luxury handbags, and products that have much cheaper alternatives sitting right beside them.
So why are they willing to spend more there, but hesitant to spend with you?
We're talking about six areas that could be creating that price objection, including trust, perceived value, messaging, audience alignment, urgency, and the risk someone feels when making the purchase.
Maybe they don't trust your business enough yet.
Maybe you haven't clearly explained WHY your product or service is worth what you're charging.
Maybe your messaging is attracting bargain shoppers when you're selling a premium product.
Maybe they want what you're selling, but there's no compelling reason to buy it today.
