Restoring the 2000 lb. Chambersburg with Pat Quinn

Pat Quinn is the Executive Director of Center for Metal Arts in Johnstown PA, the premier institution for Forging education. I was very excited to talk about the amazing new large scale forged sculpture built during the Collaborative Sculpture Workshop, especially as its construction depended on the restoration of the 2000 lb. Chambersburg self contained hammer. After an amazing fundraiser and restoration of the hammer Pat realized something was terrifyingly wrong. The story of this restoration turned into an odyssey and adds another layer to the history of Center for Metal Arts. Many thanks to Pat for telling this story, and he’ll be back soon!
