A Haunted House in Appalachia: Hinsdale House Part 1
From July 1970 through 1974, the Dandy family lived in what is considered to be the most haunted house in the entire state of New York. They endured years of psychological terror in the form of sightings of full body apparitions so clear it was shocking to see those people disappear right before their eyes, disembodied voices whispering through their windows in the dark of night and chanting through the woods, objects being moved and stolen from their home when nobody was around to commit the act, burns appearing on their bodies and belongings when they woke in the morning, accidents causing severe injuries, and an overall sense of danger and dread over the entire home – it had an energy so negative and so strong that even a church sanctioned exorcism couldn't stop it.
Their home, located in northern Appalachia and now referred to as the infamous Hinsdale House, was a source of great struggle for the entire family for some time and left a lasting mark on all of them. What began as a family searching for a slower life and a country oasis turned dark and remains with them, some through to their end on this earthly plane. Their story, the story I want to relay to you today, lives on as a reminder that the land remembers.
