****

Last week, in one of my B2-level conversation groups, a student told me he had gone to a birthday party with one of his children.

He had approached a group of parents while the kids were playing. The thing is, he felt a bit frustrated because he hadn't managed to interact much. He had found it hard to follow the conversation... "people from Málaga speak really fast."

I’ve spent the whole week thinking about how to help that student—and so many others facing the same issue.

They have a good level of Spanish; they know the grammar and have the vocabulary, and in class with me, they can hold a fluid conversation without any problems... so, where is the issue? Why do they understand me, but not the other parents or groups of native Spanish speakers?

I talk about all this in today’s episode

And remember: in October, we’re launching new conversation groups—both online and in-person in Málaga 😉. Sign up on my website to receive all the information HERE</a
