Ellefson Plays Countdown, Zakk Sells BLS, Abbath Scrap 2026

David Ellefson has announced the December leg of his Bass Warrior European tour, and he'll be playing Megadeth's Countdown To Extinction in its entirety across twelve dates from December 3 to 19 — five days after Dave Mustaine's memoir excerpt claimed Ellefson's time in the band was finished regardless of the 2021 scandal. Ellefson has previously said of his 2010 return as a salaried player: "In order to have a friendship, I had to give up some ownership."

Also on this episode: MNRK Music Group have acquired the complete recorded catalogue of Black Label Society — eleven studio albums plus live releases, compilations, EPs and Zakk Wylde's solo material including Unblackened — with Wylde remaining actively involved in how the music is presented.
