SURVIVE AND ADVANCE: Ohio State Buckeyes WIN Despite Sloppy Start, Jeremiah Smith DOMINATES Maryland

Ohio State Buckeyes survive Maryland Terrapins with Jeremiah Smith’s electrifying play—does this gritty win signal trouble or just championship mettle?

The conversation focused on Ohio State’s 45-16 victory over Maryland, spotlighting Jeremiah Smith’s two-touchdown performance and the Buckeyes’ powerful run game led by Bo and Ja'Kobi Jackson. Several points were raised, including concerns over a sloppy start, costly penalties, and turnovers that saw Ohio State lose key battles in fundamentals. The discussion explored the defense’s dominance in limiting Maryland to just 146 total yards, the impact of offensive line changes, and the importance of regaining crisp execution before facing the Indiana Hoosiers. Special teams highlights and the absence of key players like Austin Siereveld also drew attention. A key theme that emerged was whether Ohio State’s raw talent can consistently overcome mistakes—or if sharper focus is needed to remain contenders in the College Football Playoff race.
