DOLPHINS SQUAD SHOW: Dolphins Fall 27-13 to Raiders: Penalties, Sacks, Blown Chances Doom Miami

The Miami Dolphins opened the Jeff Hafley era with a frustrating 27-13 loss to the Las Vegas Raiders, and the final score only tells part of the story.

Miami's defense intercepted Kirk Cousins twice, while the return game repeatedly created favorable field position — including a spectacular 79-yard Jaylen Wright kickoff return — but the Dolphins continually failed to turn those opportunities into points.

Malik Willis finished 15-of-27 for 222 yards with one interception, added 39 rushing yards and Miami's only touchdown, but was sacked five times for 35 yards. De'Von Achane was held to 36 rushing yards on 11 carries, while Caleb Douglas emerged as one of Miami's brightest offensive performers with 5 catches for 94 yards.

Defensively, Miami's youth was tested. Rookie linebacker Jacob Rodriguez led the Dolphins with 14 tackles, Chris Johnson recorded 11 tackles, a TFL and two passes defended, and young safeties Michael Taaffe and Dante Trader Jr. each intercepted Cousins.
