OVERREACTION: A 41-9 Win Nobody Will Remember | All Eyes On LSU In a Week | Ole Miss Cruises
Ole Miss 41, Charlotte 9. Home opener, done, and almost nobody will remember it in three weeks.
That's exactly why I spent this stream doing what I said I'd do before kickoff: grading the four things I put on the record, out loud, whether the answers were convenient or not.
Nobody gets hurt. First-string defense gives up fewer than 10. Everybody banged up rests, Kewan included. Johntay Cook and Caleb Cunningham get real involvement.
It was 27-0 at halftime. Charlotte had six first downs and 118 total yards against mostly ones — and that was the number I actually cared about tonight, not the final. Then they put nine on the board after the break, and I get into what that does and doesn't mean.
I also predicted 48-14 and said at -47.5 it probably wasn't a cover. It wasn't. We talk about why 47.5-point spreads ask winning teams to do something they have no reason to do.
And then the only thing that actually matters: LSU, next Saturday, 6:30 CT, in this building, on ABC.
