<p>Mishna Yomi - Ohalos 9:7-8 - By R&#39; Shloimie Friedman</p><p>L&#39;uli Nishmas Etta Ahuva bas Yaakov</p><p><br></p><p>Oct 10, 2026</p><p>Shab</p><p>29 Tishrei 5787</p><p>Ohalos 9:7-8</p><p><br></p><p><strong>Mishnah Ohalos 9:7</strong></p><p><strong>משנה אהלות ט׳:ז׳</strong></p><p>בַּמֶּה דְבָרִים אֲמוּרִים, בִּזְמַן שֶׁהִיא כְלִי מְחֻלְחָלֶת. הָיְתָה פְחוּתָה וּפְקוּקָה בְקַשׁ אוֹ אֲפוּצָה, אֵיזוֹהִי אֲפוּצָה, כֹּל שֶׁאֵין לָהּ טֶפַח מִמָּקוֹם אֶחָד, כַּזַּיִת מִן הַמֵּת נָתוּן תַּחְתֶּיהָ, כְּנֶגְדּוֹ עַד הַתְּהוֹם טָמֵא. עַל גַּבָּהּ, כְּנֶגְדּוֹ עַד הָרָקִיעַ טָמֵא. בְּתוֹכָהּ אוֹ בַבַּיִת, תּוֹכָהּ וְהַבַּיִת טְמֵאִים:</p><p><strong>Synopsis from R&#39; Shloimie</strong></p><p>We explain that משנה ה׳ and ו׳ dealt with a כוורת whose פה faced the בית while it still had שם כלי. Here, היתה פחותה, it lost its שם כלי, so it can be מציל on what is inside it. It is פקוקה בקש, stuffed with straw, or אפוצה, with no טפח in any one place.</p><p>So with a כזית מן המת underneath, כנגדו עד התהום is טמא, but inside it is טהור. Since it is no longer a כלי, it can be חוצץ for what is inside.</p><p>The same goes for טומאה on top: כנגדו עד הרקיע is טמא, and inside is טהור.</p><p>If the טומאה is בתוכה or בבית, the inside of the כוורת and the house share the same דין, since its opening faces in. With טומאה in either one, both are טמא.</p><p><br></p><p><strong>Mishnah Ohalos 9:8</strong></p><p><strong>משנה אהלות ט׳:ח׳</strong></p><p>הָיְתָה גְבוֹהָה מִן הָאָרֶץ טֶפַח, טֻמְאָה תַחְתֶּיהָ אוֹ בַבַּיִת אוֹ בְתוֹכָהּ, הַכֹּל טָמֵא, אֶלָּא גַבָּהּ. עַל גַּבָּהּ, כְּנֶגְדּוֹ עַד הָרָקִיעַ טָמֵא:</p><p><strong>Synopsis from R&#39; Shloimie</strong></p><p>The only חילוק is that it is a טפח off the ground. Now טומאה underneath joins, because everything within that טפח from the ground up to the כוורת is together. So with טומאה under it, in the בית, or בתוכה, הכל טמא. The only area that stays טהור is on top of the כוורת.</p><p>If the טומאה is on top, כנגדו עד הרקיע is טמא.
