105. Let's REWIRE...Money8 okt13 min

Money is rarely just about money. In the final episode of the Let's REWIRE series, after time, our bodies and anxiety, we're taking on one of the most loaded patterns of all. I share why I believe the mother wound and the money wound are the same wound, why your "money mindset" actually starts in your body, and why knowing a belief isn't the same as changing it. We look at the money messages you inherited, how they're tied to your earliest experiences of needing and receiving, and what relationship with money you want to model for your daughter.

Key Points

What comes up in your body when you think about spending, receiving, charging for your work, or buying something just because you want itWhy money brings up safety, worth, scarcity, control, deserving and trust all at onceWhy your money mindset comes from your body set, meaning what's happening in your nervous systemThe mother wound and the money wound: how your first caregiving relationship shaped what you expect around needs, receiving, dependence and worthinessReflection questions: Was it safe to need something? Could you receive without earning it? Did you have to be easy, helpful or low-maintenance to be cared for?The money phrases you grew up with ("Money doesn't grow on trees," "Don't depend on anyone financially") and the patterns you watched play outThe collective piece: women haven't been allowed their own bank accounts for very long, so this patterning runs through our lineages and through women as a wholeWhy you can know you can afford something and still feel unsafe spending itThe question to ask next: What relationship with money do I want to practice, and to model for my daughter? How REWIRE touches your relationship with money even if money isn't the pattern you bring, because healing one pattern affects the whole nervous system
