"Discipleship, Not an Easy Task" - Luke 14:25-35 - Jun 4, 2026 - Pastor Scotty Brown

In Luke 14:25-35, Jesus challenges the crowds with the hard truth that following Him is costly. Pastor Scotty Brown unpacks these difficult sayings, explaining that while salvation is freely offered, true discipleship demands absolute surrender. Through the parables of the builder, the king preparing for battle, and salt losing its flavor, we are called to honestly evaluate our commitment to Christ.

The message highlights the requirements of a true disciple:

Prioritizing Jesus above all earthly relationships

Taking up our cross daily to die to self

Yielding completely to His preeminence and authority

Believers are encouraged to count the cost, set their face like flint toward Jesus, and trust God's supernatural power to help them finish the race faithfully.
