The Back-to-School Reset

Back to school time. No information is given to the parent. The earlier wake times, the forms, the pickups, and the hundred more decisions per day are also yours. And your tank is getting low right when you need it most. When your child comes through the door and breaks down over nothing, it is not a discipline issue. Throughout the day, they have maintained restraint. With you, however, they know they will always be loved the way they are. So the restraint breaks down. In this episode, I share what a school day costs to a child. I also share why the first six weeks are the most difficult and why parenting on purpose is the actual strategy for making it through them well.
