Rewards Are Punishments in Disguise
Most of us were taught that the opposite of punishment is praise. That sticker charts and "great job, buddy" are the good, gentle way to parent. In this episode, I want to challenge that. What if praise and punishment are not opposites at all, but two versions of the same deal: my love is a response to your behavior. We will cover why rewards work too well at the wrong thing, what to say instead of "good job," and how to become the one place your child never has to earn your warmth. You will leave with real phrases and a roadmap you can start tomorrow.
