Because Jesus Lives | 1st Peter 1:3-12 | Kyle Estepp

Life is full of things that feel secure until they are not: work changes, health shifts, relationships fracture, and plans unravel. Peter writes to Christians living as elect exiles under real pressure, but before he tells them what to do, he overwhelms them with what God has already done. Christianity begins not with our faithfulness to God, but with God’s faithfulness to us.According to God’s great mercy, believers have been born again to a living hope through the resurrection of Jesus Christ. This is not wishful thinking about an uncertain future. It is settled confidence in a future God has already secured because Jesus walked out of the grave.“Because Jesus lives, our hope can outlive anything.”
