Abraham - The disrupting call

Genesis 11:27 begins the family history of Terah and serves as the vital bridge to the story of Abraham (Abram). It introduces Terah’s sons, notes a family tragedy, and sets the stage for God's call to Abram to move toward the Promised Land.

In Genesis 12:3, God is talking to Abram (who is later named Abraham). God is making a personal covenant promise to Abram, telling him, "I will bless those who bless you, and whoever curses you I will curse; and all peoples on earth will be blessed through you.
