BUT GOD REMEMBERED

All of us have seasons in our lives when the world seems to be turned upside down, when we can’t make sense of anything, when we feel lost and all alone! Maybe it comes in the form of some personal tragedy or a relational crisis. Or maybe it comes as a particularly stressful or challenging period in your career, or an overwhelming sense of dread from the onslaught of negative news media. Whatever the source or the intensity of these emotions, you can be sure we will all go through them at some point.

Addressing this kind of circumstance, Chuck Swindoll offers this simple proverb, “Worry erases the promises of God from your mind.” As simple as this is, it is a grave warning for Christians, because if we lose sight of what Christ has promised us, then we will inevitably be overcome with despair.

Join us this week as we continue in the story of Noah and the flood in Genesis 8. I hope you will be encouraged as we see that even in dark times, we can have hope because God remembers the covenant promises he has made to his people.

Waiting on God means I learn to live on what I know to be true about God when I don’t know what’s true about my life. It means focusing my heart on who God is, what he’s like, and why he can be trusted—even in the tension-filled uncertainties of life.
