#218 - Tim Mulgrew

<p>What does it actually mean to be saved?Tim Mulgrew, author of Christian: A Contract With God: Understanding the Terms of True Salvation*, joins Eric to examine one of the most sobering warnings in Scripture: Jesus saying, “I never knew you.”Tim argues that many Christians have been taught to think salvation is simply a matter of walking an aisle, praying a prayer, getting baptized or mentally agreeing with the right beliefs. Eric and Tim discuss the difference between merely identifying as a Christian and actually being born again, why genuine faith should transform the way a person lives, and what Scripture means when it says faith without works is dead. They also discuss the sinner’s prayer, “once saved, always saved,” Bonhoeffer’s warning about cheap grace, discipleship, sanctification and why Christians should be willing to seriously examine whether their faith has truly changed their lives.⭐ ORDER NOW:Revolution: The Birth of the Greatest Nation in the History of the World📕: https://a.co/d/0ir3NlapTODAY&#39;S SPONSORS:🪙 Grace Precious Metals: https://www.metaxasmetals.com/🛏️ MyPillow — Save BIG with code ERIC: https://www.mypillow.com/☀️ Chapter -- Honest, fast, and free Medicare plan guidance: https://askchapter.com/metaxas/🦅 Patriot Mobile -- America&#39;s ONLY Christian Conservative Wireless Provider: https://patriotmobile.com/partners/metaxas🏛️ Socrates in the City CRUISE: https://socratesinthecity.com/cruise/0:00 Tim Mulgrew Joins1:49 Who Is Jesus Warning In Matthew 7?3:44 Faith Without Works Is Dead5:33 What Does It Actually Mean To “Believe”?7:50 The Problem With Easy Christianity9:07 Is The Sinner’s Prayer Biblical?10:10 “Depart From Me, I Never Knew You”11:32 Does Real Faith Change Your Life?13:33 Why Tim Calls Salvation A “Contract”15:01 What Does It Mean To Be Born Again?18:23 Eric On False Assurance And Discipleship21:31 Is Salvation Just A Ticket To Heaven?22:55 What Comes After Being Saved?25:57 Has The Church Made Salvation Too Easy?28:11 Dying To Self30:02 Should Christians Question Their Salvation?- - -LIKE AND SUBSCRIBE: https://www.youtube.com/@ericmetaxas#EricMetaxas #TheEricMetaxasShow #News #PoliticsChapter and its affiliates are not connected with or endorsed by any government entity or the federal Medicare program.
