Pacific Undersea Submarine Defense Dominance

Rebecca Grant, co-host Gordon Chang: Grant and Chang examine American undersea warfare advantages against China across the Indo-Pacific region. Grant highlights the Virginia-class attack submarine, noting that upcoming Block V and VI variants are being up-armored with enhanced payload modules carrying twenty-eight extra Tomahawk missiles. While China’s Type 095 submarine signals rising maritime competition, the US retains dominance through superior technology, experienced crews, allied P-8 Poseidon patrol planes, unmanned undersea systems, and integrated space-based targeting networks.
