Stephen Grootes speaks to Charles Stuart, Africa Entertainment and Media Leader at PwC, about the changing television landscape as streaming platforms gain ground on traditional broadcasters. PwC’s Africa Entertainment and Media Outlook forecasts streaming revenue growth of 7.6% annually in South Africa through 2030, compared with 15.9% in Kenya and 20.4% in Nigeria. While traditional television revenue is declining in South Africa, it continues to grow in Kenya and Nigeria.

In other interviews, Dr Ongama Mtimka, Acting Director of the Raymond Mhlaba Centre for Governance and Leadership at Nelson Mandela University talks about whether Cosatu remains relevant to South African workers following a turbulent leadership contest. With unemployment, retrenchments and rising living costs putting workers under pressure, questions remain about Cosatu’s ability to overcome internal divisions, maintain its political influence and effectively represent workers’ interests.
