We talk a lot about light and water on this show. But there is a third piece of the biological environment that gets far less attention: magnetism.

In this episode, Meredith talks with Dr. Luis Garcia, a medical doctor who has spent the past 18 years exploring the therapeutic use of static magnetic fields through biomagnetism.

Dr. Garcia didn't set out to leave conventional medicine behind. He began his career as a newly trained physician and quickly became frustrated by how little he felt he could offer patients who had already tried the standard approaches. That frustration sent him looking for other options: from homeopathy and acupuncture to ozone, IV therapies and functional medicine… until another physician introduced him to biomagnetism.

What he witnessed changed the direction of his career.

Dr. Garcia explains the history of biomagnetism and the unusual method at its center: placing pairs of magnets in specific locations while using the body's muscular response to help determine placement. He demonstrates the process during the interview, showing a temporary change in his own arm alignment and then what happens after applying a pair of magnets.

From there, the conversation goes much deeper into why magnetic fields might affect biology at all.

Dr. Garcia discusses research he believes may help explain some of his clinical observations, including the effects of static magnetic fields on mitochondrial electron transport, electron spin, radical-pair reactions, oxidative stress and DNA behavior.

For a Reverse Aging Club audience, one of the most interesting questions is not simply whether magnets can be used therapeutically when something goes wrong, but whether magnetic fields could become another tool for maintaining biological function as we age.

Dr. Garcia discusses animal research examining long-term static magnetic-field exposure, lifespan, cognitive function and physical function — and why he now uses magnets regularly as part of his own preventative health routine.

The conversation also expands beyond the human body.
