Apparently, I Need to Start Working Out Again

Apparently I need to start working out again.

Which is slightly embarrassing considering I spent years in the fitness industry teaching women how to exercise, lift weights, and take care of themselves. I know what to do. I just haven't been doing it.

But this isn't really an episode about getting in shape.

It's about what fitness means to me now that I'm 55.

I don't want my old body back. I don't want to spend the next twenty years trying to get smaller, younger, or "summer ready." I'm much more interested in being strong, having energy, feeling good in my body, and making sure my body can keep up with the life I still want to live.

Because I still want to travel. Walk through cities. Dance. Get on the floor and get back up. Carry my own suitcase. Say yes to things.

I want a bigger life—not a smaller body.

So maybe this isn't about starting over after 50.Maybe it's about starting again with everything we know now.

And if you've fallen out of the fitness habit too, don't worry.

Apparently, I'm the president of that club.

Grab your coffee. Let's talk about getting stronger, taking care of ourselves, and making sure our bodies get to come along for whatever comes next.
