EP:208 Hey Thrive Community! 💛

If you're exhausted by parenthood, I want you to hear this:

Exhaustion does not mean you're weak.It does not mean you're failing. And it certainly does not mean you're a bad parent.

The first step toward taking care of yourself when you're exhausted is something I talk about often: awareness and acceptance.

Pause and ask yourself:

How do I feel right now?

And be honest with yourself.

Maybe the answer is, “I'm exhausted.”

That's okay.

You are allowed to feel exhausted. Parenting is demanding, and acknowledging that your brain and body are tired isn't something to feel ashamed of. In fact, awareness is often the first step toward understanding what your nervous system, mind, and body need.

But awareness alone isn't enough.

Once we recognize how we're feeling, we have to give ourselves permission to do something about it.
