Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles Movie (1990)

Episode 309 of Tom Clark's 6M Podcast is a look at the 1990 live-action Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles movie and the story behind its unlikely trip to the big screen. Tom Clark and Chris Patton look back at the first movie adaptation, from the original comics and animated series to the decision to bring Leonardo, Donatello, Michelangelo and Raphael to life using the incredible costumes created by Jim Henson's Creature Shop. The episode also examines the movie's unusual production history, deleted scenes, North Carolina filming locations, behind-the-scenes trivia, and the movie's enormous box-office success.

Tom and Chris look at why this movie became such a huge hit despite major studios passing on it, how it was received by critics, and whether it still deserves its reputation as the best live-action Turtles movie. Does this film still hold up after 30+ years, or is it a product of its time? Dive into that and a lot more!
