Every Station Is Haunted - Rethinking the Silence Overhead

A mainstream psychologist just published the wildest idea in neuroscience. Robert Epstein, who spent years arguing the brain is not a computer, now says it might be a transducer. A receiver. That intelligence was never built inside the skull at all, and that somewhere around fifty thousand years ago one infant was born wired to catch a signal from somewhere else. We take it seriously and we stay honest about where it gets shaky.

Philip K. Dick and the pink light that diagnosed his son. Alfred Russel Wallace breaking with Darwin over a brain that overshot survival. Ramanujan and the goddess who handed him the math. Dreams as a distorted signal. Terminal lucidity, when a ruined mind comes back clear in the last hour of life. And the coldest reading of the silent sky we have got.
