True Spies Debrief: Ayman Oghanna on Mental Health, China, And The Spy Next Door

Content Warning: This episode contains references to violence and contains an extended discussion around mental health.

Journalist Ayman Oghanna has reported from the heart of some of the worlds' deadliest conflicts. He's also fought his own battles with bipolar disorder. It's a condition that can cause debilitating delusions - and one of Ayman's was that he was being surveilled by spies. But when he learned that a real spy had been living in his Athens apartment block, he knew he had to find out more.

Based on his original reporting for The Economists' Weekend Intelligence podcast, Ayman lets True Spies producer Eleanor Sly in to a world of warzones, Chinese espionage, and secret lives conducted in the most ordinary places.

From SPYSCAPE, the home of secrets. A Cup And Nuzzle production. Series producer: Joe Foley. Produced by Eleanor Sly.
