Trusting the signs & just doing one thing.

After a summer away, I’m back on the podcast.

Last week, we said goodbye to Daphne, our dog of 16 years. And while I’m still very much in the sadness and grief of losing her, I’ve also found myself thinking about everything she taught me while she was here.

About being excited about the little things. About slowing down. About simply being there for someone when they’re sad. About co-regulation. And about letting grief, gratitude, love, and even moments of happiness exist together without needing to make any of them wrong.

I also started asking Daphne for signs.

A squirrel. A feather. A butterfly.

And whether you believe those things were actually signs from Daphne or simply beautiful coincidences, there’s something powerful about being willing to ask, slow down, notice, and let something mean something to you.

Because sometimes trusting yourself means getting quiet enough to notice what’s already there.

And maybe that’s also what I needed as I came back to this podcast: I don’t have to know what the next 100 episodes look like. I don’t even have to know what next week looks like.

I can just do one thing.
