The Nanny Academy: Interview with Louenna and Jess

Charlotte, Charlie and Millie are joined by ex-career Nannies Louenna and Jess, founders of The Nanny Academy in Cambridge, to discuss their exciting new venture.

Designed for those with a passion for childcare, the 12-week residential course combines hands-on practical learning with a Level 3 accredited qualification. With small cohorts, beginning in January, the programme is tailored to each student's individual experience and confidence, ensuring additional support where it's needed most.

Louenna and Jess explain how the Academy aims to bridge the gap between traditional, academically focused childcare courses and the practical skills required to excel as a professional Nanny. While the qualification includes written assignments, they discuss how the academic elements can be adapted to suit different learning styles.

From newborn care, nutrition and potty training to etiquette and real-life childcare scenarios, this course is designed to equip aspiring Nannies with the knowledge and confidence needed for the role. Above all, Louenna and Jess share their passion for passing on the wealth of experience they've gained throughout their careers.
