What Are You Asking For? EP 431
Welcome to your Daily Dose of Hope. I’m Phyllis Nichols.
A former business coach of mine used to say he could look at someone’s calendar and tell exactly what was important to them.
They might say their family or their health mattered most. But he said their calendar often told a different story.
I understand the point he was making, although I don’t think our calendars tell the whole story.
Your daily walk might not be on there. Dinner with your family might not be either. And sometimes our schedules are full of responsibilities we didn’t choose and can’t simply set aside.
So this isn’t an invitation to judge yourself by your calendar.
But it did get me thinking about something useful.
When I say I want more of something in my life, am I giving it any room?
More time with friends. More rest. More creativity. More time outside.
Those are lovely things to want. But if I keep waiting until everything else is finished, I might be waiting a very long time.
There will always be another email. Another household task. Another thing that would be good to get done.
Meanwhile, the things I say matter to me can keep getting pushed to next week.
