In 1972, three young boys near Bonners Ferry, Idaho, built a secret fort deep in the woods—only to discover a strange, extremely hairy youngster sleeping inside. They nicknamed him “Grunt,” shared their food with him, and before long, he became an unusual part of their childhood adventures.

But Grunt's unpredictable behavior eventually took a disturbing turn, leaving one of the boys frightened enough to never return to the woods. Decades later, the friends began to wonder whether the strange “hairy hippie” they had befriended wasn't human at all—but a young Sasquatch.
