Cookies and Colt | Beyond the Den

A quiet summer afternoon turns sideways when Colt Curd answers a knock at his door and finds a mother and daughter sellin’ cookies. What starts as a simple doorstep moment drifts into one of those small, honest encounters that shows a man more about himself than he expected. The girl’s blunt truth, the mother’s steady calm, and Colt’s own contemplative heart all meet in a kitchen with a stubborn Beaver Bar, a glass of milk, and a thought Colt didn’t know he’d been carryin’.

It’s a Visit about chapters — how folks see each other, how kindness lands, and how even a quiet detective can find himself part of somebody’s story without understandin’ the plot. Soft humor, gentle surprise, and a touch of heart make this one of Colt’s most human moments yet.

Dawson's Den is made possible, in part, by the Wyoming Arts Council with support from the National Endowment for the Arts and the Wyoming Legislature.

cookies • western comedy • Colt Curd • frontier storytelling • Wyoming audio theater • Dawson’s Den Visit • summer porch listening • small‑town kindness • cowboy humor • family moments • Beaver Bar mystery • wholesome western stories • character‑driven audio fiction • Sheridan Wyoming creatives • independent radio theater • western swing storytelling, Montana, Wyoming
