Fouke, Arkansas — The Beast That Walks Out of Boggy Creek

Something seven feet tall has been walking out of the Arkansas swamp for over a hundred years. It leaves footprints with only three toes. It's been shot at more times than anyone can count — and it always comes back. This is the Fouke Monster.

 

Deep in the Sulphur River bottoms of southwest Arkansas, the little town of Fouke shares its backyard with the Beast of Boggy Creek — the three-toed, red-eyed swamp Bigfoot that terrorized the Ford family in 1971, inspired the cult classic film The Legend of Boggy Creek, and still gets called in to the county sheriff to this day. Host Carman Carrion — an Arkansas native — takes you down to the bottoms for the full story: the decades of sightings, the night it all went national, and an original tale of one man who went into that swamp after dark and came back marked forever.
