Sam Tallent - Running the Light, BRUT & Life on the Road | Greg Fitzsimmons

Greg sits down with comedian and novelist Sam Tallent for a deep dive into stand-up, life on the road, sobriety, terrible openers, indie comedy clubs, marriage, writing and knowing when to stop chasing the next thing.

Sam talks about his acclaimed novel Running the Light and his brand-new book, BRUT, a violent new thriller about an American hitman sent to Paris for one last impossible job. Greg and Sam also get into the strange psychology of performing, learning stand-up sober, the economics of comedy clubs, officiating weddings and why gratitude might be the only thing keeping comics sane.

Plus, Greg remembers Bald Bryan, gets an unexpected call from Andrew Santino and reports back from a wild weekend at the Comedy Store in La Jolla.
