Hexatrek with a Dog - Fab, Fitch, and Billie (Part I)
Fab, Fitch, and Billie are currently halfway through the HexaTrek (France's 3,000-kilometer Grand Traverse) on their first thru-hike, as a couple who met just over a year ago in Australia. In Part 1, Doc covers the international team's origin story (a guy from the UK, a woman from Berlin, a dog from Australia, all meeting at a Facebook hike in Gold Coast), what it's actually like to design your own thru-hike on the fly because the dog-friendly alternate routes are poorly marked and occasionally nonexistent, the near-quit moment on Day 62 that ended with tears on a factory pontoon and a question that got them back on their feet, and the joy and logistics of hiking with Billie through one of France's hottest summers on record. Hiking Poll scores: Fab, 53. Fitch, 47. Doc predicted Fitch would be crazier and was vindicated.
Part 2 drops in 10 minutes.
