Sean Burke's AWUFL outing is a reminder that the young White Sox are contending for the first time

Chicago White Sox starting pitcher Sean Burke was terrible against Pittsburgh despite getting an extra day's rest. His endurance problem is noticeable and would be acceptable if this was another rebuilding year. However, with the team contending for a division title, Burke, and the rest of the White Sox, no longer have the luxury of falling back on this being the first time they are going through a playoff race or a full big-league season. It also means closing out the division race with a title will look pretty.
