From Roast Dinner to Second Chance | London News
A sixty-four-year-old man from Kingswood, Udhyam Amin, survived a harrowing battle with sepsis after what started as a routine roast dinner turned into a life-threatening emergency. Mistaken for food poisoning, he quickly deteriorated, suffering cardiac arrest and multi-organ failure—given just hours to live. Placed in an induced coma for over two weeks, his family feared the worst. Against all odds, he pulled through, now back at work and thanking the St Helier Hospital team who saved his life. His family has also launched a fundraiser for ICU, already raising $37,000 in his honor.
