End of Day Report – Friday 9 October: ASX 200 jumps 57 pts to end the week up 35 pts - Firmus canned - Golds better - Industrials rally - Tech in focus

The ASX 200 rose 56 points to 8,717 to finish the week on a strong note. Up 34 pts on the week. A solid rebound in most sectors after yesterday's fall. News that the Firmus float had been cancelled may have helped sentiment slightly. The banking sector rose slightly, with CBA up 0.8% and MQG also having another good day, up 0.6%.
