TEXANS-BILLS Preview | Mafia BPA
Buffalo opens the Joe Brady era on the road at NRG Stadium against Houston on Sunday, Sept. 13 (1 p.m. ET, CBS). Both teams finished 12-5 last season and lost in the AFC Divisional Round. On paper it is Buffalo’s offense (Josh Allen + James Cook) versus Houston’s defense (DeMeco Ryans, Will Anderson Jr., Danielle Hunter).
James Roy’s Texans-leaning take
Roy has pointed to continuity on Houston’s side of the ball as a comfort. Joe Brady is now the Bills’ head coach, but he was the offensive coordinator last year when Buffalo could not solve the Texans’ defense. Roy has said that fact is “comforting” for Houston fans and that he is curious whether the coaching change helps or hurts Buffalo in this specific matchup.
