Trojans take care of Louisiana 49-30 in a sloppy Saturday night effort
On this latest edition of Tunnel Vision USCFootball.com's, Ryan Abraham, RJ Abeytia and Ahmad Akkaoui are back in studio breaking down what they saw Saturday night in the Coliseum, with the Trojans taking down the Ragin' Cajuns 49-30. Our crew went into this final out of conference contest with specific ideas of what they wanted to see, but USC apparently had other ideas. The lack of explosive runs continued, the lack of focus by the defense later in the game returned and impressive plays on special teams were offset by major mistakes in the kicking game. After the game head coach Lincoln Riley made it clear that there were many aspects of their play that needed to be cleaned up, especially the 8 penalties for 78 yards, many of which came at inopportune times. Quarterback Jayden Maiava did throw for five touchdowns, but also threw his first interception and he could have thrown more. The starting defenders looked solid but the depth on that side of the ball is a major concern after allowing Lunch Winfield to rush for nearly 100 yards and have a rare efficient night passing the ball as well.USC is now 3-0 with three blowout victories while some of its upcoming opponents have already suffered significant setbacks. The guys talk about what they think it all means for the Men of Troy as they now head into conference play. Please review, rate and subscribe to the Peristyle Podcast on Apple Podcasts and Spotify!Make sure you check out USCFootball.com for complete coverage of this USC Trojan football team.
