How Could The Lindsay Clancy Jury Be 11-1?

I assumed the 11 were for charging her with murder, but it turns out there was only 1 hero holding out (I can't wait to hear from him). How could this be? What's happening in Massachusetts that this was the jury pool? Well, there's nothing new under the sun. This has happened before, and it can get much worse.
