146: Taxpayer-Funded White Nationalism feat. Greg Sargent
<p>Everyone, likely including the Trump administration itself, understands the racist roots of the word "remigration." Before it appeared in US politics, white nationalists coined the term and amplified it throughout Europe. So if everyone knows this, why has our government chosen to publicly associate with it?</p><p>The answer may be as simple as "Stephen Miller." Jared and Mike continue their coverage of the most consequential figure in our government, and the architect of its most sadistic policies, in a conversation with <strong>Greg Sargent</strong> of <em>The New Republic</em>. Sargent, who has done big-picture reporting on Miller's ideology, explains that American taxpayers have been quietly funding a federal "Office of Remigration," and how it relates to the Trump Administration's rhetorical war against "communism."</p><p>The situation for immigrants is precarious, to put it mildly. But as Stephen Miller himself once said: <em>"Racism must be defeated. Thank you."</em></p><p><br></p><p><strong>Links for Greg:</strong></p><p><strong></strong><a href="https://newrepublic.com/article/204191/stephen-miller-maga-terror-state-dark-plot" target="_blank" rel="noopener noreferrer nofollow">Inside Stephen Miller’s Dark Plot to Build a MAGA Terror State</a></p><p><a href="https://newrepublic.com/article/215752/stephen-miller-remigration-maga-campaign-leaks" target="_blank" rel="noopener noreferrer nofollow">Stephen Miller’s MAGA Terror Campaign Exposed by Damning New Leaks</a></p><p>Podcast: <a href="https://newrepublic.com/podcasts/the-daily-blast-greg-sargent" target="_blank" rel="noopener noreferrer nofollow">The Daily Blast with Greg Sargent</a></p><p>X: <a href="https://x.com/GregTSargent" target="_blank" rel="noopener noreferrer nofollow">@GregTSargent</a> / Bluesky: <a href="https://bsky.app/profile/gregsargent.bsky.social" target="_blank" rel="noopener noreferrer nofollow">@gregsargent.bsky.social</a></p><p><br></p><p><strong>Join us in New York City on Oct. 28: </strong><a href="https://ipk.nyu.edu/events/book-talk-michael-edison-hayden-christopher-mathias-strange-people-on-the-hill-how-extremism-tore-apart-a-small-american-town-to-catch-a-fascist-the-fight-to-expose-the-radical-right/" target="_blank" rel="noopener noreferrer nofollow"><strong>RSVP Here</strong></a></p><p><br></p><p><strong>Transition Music: </strong><a href="https://jesterofnocourt.bandcamp.com/album/reduce-the-size-of-gover
