Michael, Gabriel, and the Spirits You Were Never Taught to Call

Michael, Gabriel, and the Spirits You Were Never Taught to Call4 days ago1 h 04 min

**Are you praying to angels the Bible never told you to call upon?** Michael. Gabriel. Raphael. Uriel. You've heard their names, but where did they actually come from? And what happens when a spiritual being claims to be an angel of God? In Episode 2 of the **Elohim Series**, Broadcasting Seeds investigates the archangels of Scripture, the angel names preserved in ancient Jewish writings, and the disturbing history of people who attempted to communicate with beings claiming heavenly authority. The Protestant Bible names Michael and Gabriel, but only Michael is explicitly identified as an archangel. Raphael appears in Tobit. Uriel appears in 1 Enoch and 2 Esdras. Other names emerge from centuries of Jewish and Christian tradition. But the story gets darker. In AD 745, a church synod in Rome condemned a preacher for invoking questionable angelic names. Centuries later, John Dee, an advisor to Queen Elizabeth I, claimed to receive messages from angels and helped develop what became known as Enochian magic. And what about the reported angels of Joan of Arc, Fatima, and the First World War? **In this episode:** - Michael and Gabriel: What Scripture actually says - Raphael, Uriel, and the seven archangels - The Book of Enoch, Tobit, and ancient Jewish traditions - The AD 745 condemnation of angelic invocations - John Dee, Edward Kelley, and Enochian magic - Joan of Arc, Fatima, and the Angels of Mons - Guardian angels and the danger of angel worship - Why Christians must test the spirits - The voice of the archangel in 1 Thessalonians 4:16 - Why Jesus Christ stands above every angelic power **The central question:** When the Lord returns with the voice of the archangel and the trumpet of God, whose voice will announce His coming? Michael's own name means, **"Who is like God?"** And the answer has never changed. **SCRIPTURE REFERENCES** Daniel 10–12 | Jude 1:9 | Revelation 12:7–9 | Luke 1 | Colossians 2:18 | Hebrews 1 | 1 Thessalonians 4:16 | 1 John 4:1 | Galatians 1:8 | Psalm 91 | Matthew 18:10 **SUPPORT BROADCASTING SEEDS** Merchandise: https://broadcastingseeds.com Support this independent ministry and research podcast by subscribing, sharing the episode, and joining the conversation below.
